What began as an idea of the two founding members Volker Faas (guitar) and Martin Wendler (bass, backing vocals) has developed into a band that has made a name for itself with passion, virtuosity and compositional courage.<\/p>\n\n<p>Inspired by the likes of Dream Theater, Rush and Marillion, as well as Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd and Metallica, Emerald Edge combine technical sophistication with melodic sensitivity. Their pieces deliberately go beyond classic song formats &#8211; some compositions easily exceed the 20-minute mark &#8211; and unfold as multi-layered dramaturgies in which other bands would find material for several songs.<\/p>\n\n<p>Her compositions are characterized by orchestral expansiveness, dynamic dramaturgy and a fine sense of tension and atmosphere. Powerful guitars meet multi-layered arrangements, melodic lines unfold in epic arcs, and surprising twists and turns keep the audience captivated from the first to the last note. The album combines four new songs with eight carefully selected tracks from &#8220;Surreal&#8221;, &#8220;By The Light Of The Dark Star&#8221; and &#8220;The Mirror Speaks&#8221; &#8211; an impressive document of their stage energy and musical range.<\/p>\n\n<p>Live, Emerald Edge transform their pieces into impressive sound journeys: energetic, emotional and with a presence that fills the room. Between powerful intensity and sensitive calm, moments are created that get under your skin and linger for a long time.<\/p>\n\n<p>Since 2006, singer and violinist Alice Aschauer has been shaping the characteristic sound of Emerald Edge with his electric violin, lending the compositions a special, almost cinematic dimension. Carried by the precise and at the same time dynamic drumming of Artur Wlossek, who has been part of the band since 2009, the pieces unfold in powerful arcs of tension.<\/p>\n\n<p>With Roland Genske, who has been expanding the sound spectrum on keyboards since 2024, the arrangements gain additional orchestral colors and atmospheric depth.
